Esperero - Rattlesnake - Prospect Trails - This is a Level 2 hike. It's 3.5 miles in length with an elevation gain of 400 feet. The first .8 mile is flat and a great warm-up for the legs. After crossing the tram road, follow the Rattlesnake Trail. At about the 1 mile mark, there is about .2 of climbing. There is an abandoned mine at 1.68. There are a couple down hills that follow where it will be good to have hiking poles. At the 2.2 mark, the trail will begin to head south again, past the Southern Arizona Rescue Association Headquarter, the Overflow lot and back to the tram road. Taking the Esperero Trail once again will lead to the parking lot.

Note: Sabino Canyon Recreation Area does require a fee for entry. Bring your America the Beautiful Pass. Day passes are $8 and a week pass is $10
